Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color organic EL display device capable of suppressing reduction in luminance with high color purity of each color of RGB. SOLUTION: This device comprises a plurality of organic EL elements emitting RGB lights, a cholesteric liquid crystal layer disposed on the light outgoing side of the organic EL elements, a phase plate disposed on the light outgoing side of the cholesteric liquid crystal layer, and a polarization plate disposed on the light outgoing side of the phase plate. A light selective absorption layer having peaks of light absorption rate within 450-530 nm and 530-630 nm within a visible wavelength band is provided on the light outgoing side of the organic elements.
