Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkali battery separator wherein the electrolyte can be retained for a long time by enhancing liquid absorbency of the electrolyte, the sucking speed of the electrolyte is improved not to spoil productivity of the battery, internal short-circuiting is prevented by suppressing growth of a dendrite in a negative electrode, electrical resistance of the separator itself is low, and capacity of a positive electrode mix and a negative electrode mix can be increased by suppressing its thickness after absorbing the electrolyte, and to also provide an alikali primary battery wherein internal short-circuiting can be prevented even if the battery receives impact by vibration and dropping when transfering or carrying it. SOLUTION: A wet nonwoven cloth containing alkaliproof fiber is pasted to a base material formed by making a cross-linking type highly water-absorbing high polymer having a carboxyl group in the amount of 5.0-45.0 g/m2adhere and cross-link to the wet nonwoven cloth containing alkaliproof fiber to form this alkali battery separator. A silica compound in the amount of 1.0×10-4to 10 mg/cm2per a separator unit area is contained in the cross-linking type highly water-absorbing high polymer. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
