Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyester fiber fully exerting its own performance in the form of a fiber-resin composite. SOLUTION: The polyester fiber, which consists of polyethylene terephthalate, has a breaking tenacity of 7.0 cN/dtex or higher, an elongation at break of 13% or greater and a heat shrinkage of 0.1-5.0% at 230°C under a load of 0.10 cN/dtex, and also is characterized in being 0.05-1.0 wt.%, on a fiber weight basis, in epoxy compound pickup on the fiber surface. Besides, in the polyester fiber, it is preferable that the peak value of the heat shrinkage force be less than 0.15 cN/dtex at 200-230°C, the single filament fineness be 4.5-6.0 dtex and the single filament count be 190-250 fil.
