Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel gas-permeable membrane which is particularly useful in packaging of fresh cut fruit, vegetables and other respiring biological materials. SOLUTION: The membrane has an O2permeability of at least 775,000 mL/m2. atm. 24 hrs, a P10ratio of at least 1.3 and a ratio (R) of CO2permeability to O2permeability of at least 1.5 and is made by forming a thin polymeric coating on a microporous polymeric film. A preferred coating polymer is a side-chain crystalline polymer. A preferred microporous film contains an inorganic filler.
