Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a void when printing on a sheet of recording paper using an ink ribbon. SOLUTION: The printer has in a printer body 3 a thermal head 5 for transferring the ink on the ink ribbon 62 onto the recording paper 40 and a guide member 2 which is positioned on the upstream side of the ink ribbon 62 further than the thermal head 5 and holds the recording paper 40 and the ink ribbon 62 for guiding the travelling of these. The guide member 2 keeps at least one side part in the width direction, substantially perpendicular to the travelling direction of the recording paper 40, projecting further to the travelling side of the recording paper 40 than to the center side.
