Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external resonator semiconductor laser capable of stably outputting laser beams having a high output, and to provide a light source with the semiconductor laser. SOLUTION: The external resonator semiconductor laser has a semiconductor laser element 1 having a first input/output radiator 2a and a second one 2b through a central axis 3 on the same end face 2, and being capable of emitting laser beams 4 and 5 in the two directions from each input/output radiators 2a and 2b. The semiconductor laser further has a first reflecting means 14 for reflecting laser beams 4 emitted from the first input/output radiator 2a and feeding back laser beams 4 to the first input/output radiator 2a, and a second reflecting means 15 for reflecting laser beams 5 emitted from the second input/output radiator 2b and feeding back laser beams 5 to the second input/output radiator 2b. The semiconductor laser further has a third reflecting means 8 being fitted on the side of a second end face 7 opposed to the first end face 2 with the input/output radiators 2a and 2b for the semiconductor laser element 1, and reflecting fed-back laser beams so as to be emitted from the first end face 2 and a mode filter 16 fitted in a resonator for laser beams.
