PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a consumption article cartridge of an image forming apparatus having a decision means of securely deciding insertion error in its early stage with a small space adaptable to many different types, and the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The toner cartridge 11 of a printer 10 has a direction decision key 3 forming a portion of the external shape and an IC chip 4 storing identification information. The IC chip 4, a connection part, or a harness connecting them is mounted at least partially on the direction decision key 4.
