DISTRIBUTED CONTENTS MANAGEMENT METHOD AND SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for managing contents distributed on a home network. SOLUTION: The distributed contents management method includes a step to collect information on the contents stored in one or more contents replay device to generate or update an integrated contents information database, and a step to use the integrated contents information database to perform contents synchronization for matching the contents-related data stored in the contents replay device to contents defined in a synchronization list setup by a user. If the contents information stored in each of the contents replay devices are modified, the changed information are received from the contents replay devices to update the contents information database and maintain the current information so that speedy and effective management with the modified contents can be performed. User also is provided with the information on any replayable contents on the home network from each of the contents replay devices, which can be used to provide and replay the desired contents in short period of time.
