METHOD OF MOUNTING ELECTRONIC PARTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of mounting electronic parts by which a detection of an absence of the electronic parts can be exactly realized by an efficient method. SOLUTION: By the method of mounting the electronic parts, parts are taken out by a mounting head 8 from a parts taking-out position of a tape feeder arranged at a parts supply unit, and are transferred to and located on a substrate. Parts P taken out by the mounting head 8 are picked up and recognized by a parts recognition camera 10. If it is judged that the mounting head 8 doesn't hold any electronic parts, a substrate recognition camera 9 provided at the mounting head 8 is moved onto a parts taking-out position. An existence of the absence of the electronic parts in the tape feeder is judged by carrying out a tape pitch feeding until the parts P are detected, while detecting the existence of the parts P.
