Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water pump efficiently exhausting air mixed in cooling water from a sliding face, and suppressing wear of the sliding face. SOLUTION: The water pump is provided with a support shaft 21, and a pump shaft 24 rotatably supported by the support shaft 21. The support shaft 21 has an outer circumference face 56 sliding on the pump shaft 24 during rotation of the pump shaft 24. A gap for communicating the cooling water during rotation of the pump shaft 24 is formed between the pump shaft 24 and the outer circumference face 56.
