Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display assembly which has a planar light source device capable of reducing the extent of a decrease in brightness along the boundary of a light guide block on a diffusion board and has superior uniformity of brightness of a display image. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display assembly includes a liquid crystal display device, the diffusion board, and the planar light source device. The planar light source device has a light source and a plurality of light guide blocks, each light guide block has a top surface, a base, and a flank. A light projection surface of the planar light source device is composed of top surfaces of a plurality of light guide blocks which are closely laid one after another; and a portion of the outline of the top surface of one light guide block where the top surface of the one light guide block is adjacent to the top surface of another light guide block adjacent to the one light guide block is formed of a curved line and/or an uneven part, and portions of the top surface of the one light guide black and the top surface of the other light guide block where those top surfaces are adjacent to each other are in complementary shapes.
