STEERING COLUMN DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device having an operation lever of excellent operability so that position of the operation lever is always constant in relation to a steering wheel independently of angle of oscillation of a tilt head and that operating force and operating stroke of the operation lever is fixed independently of angle of oscillation of the tilt head. SOLUTION: A movement transmitting mechanism of the steering column device capable of adjusting axial position and angle of inclination of the steering wheel by operating the operation lever from a lever lock position to a lever release position to unlock a telescopic lock means and a tilt lock means is provided with a rack plate 16 supported by a movable column jacket 3 freely to move straight and connected to the operation lever 7 to move straight with oscillation and a pinion rod 18 turnably supported by the movable column jacket 3. A link pin 7b to be provided at a connection position of the rack plate 16 and the operation lever 7 to each other is set on the center axis 10 of the oscillation of the tilt head 4.
