Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion of a metal oxide fine particle, in which the metal oxide fine particle having a very fine particle diameter is dispersed homogeneously and stably, and to provide a method for manufacturing the dispersion of the metal oxide fine particle. SOLUTION: The dispersion of the metal oxide fine particle is obtained by dispersing fine particles, which have 1-200 nm average primary particle diameter and each of which is an oxide or compound oxide of at least one element selected from magnesium, aluminum, silicon, scandium, titanium, vanadium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, gallium, germanium, strontium and yttrium, in an organic dispersion medium. A median particle diameter (based on the volume) of the metal oxide fine particle in the dispersion is 1-100 nm and the maximum particle diameter thereof is within 10-1,000 nm.
