ROLLER MANUFACTURING METHOD, DEVELOPING ROLLER MANUFACTURED BY THE METHOD, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing roller designed such that a roller manufacturing method for forming an elastic layer by applying a liquid composition to a shaft body to eliminate the problems of a partial increase in the layer thickness of the ends of an elastic layer and difference of physical chemical properties, variations in development density, degradation in the developability of an intermediate density area, and leakage of charges are also prevented, and to provide a developing roller manufacturing method, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The roller manufacturing method for forming an elastic layer by applying a liquid composition to the shaft body kept horizontal and rotated. Members are fitted on the ends of the effective application area of the shaft body, then the liquid composition is applied to the shaft body, and the members fitted on them are removed after the liquid composition layer is hardened.
