Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable shaft capable of preventing falling-off of a rolling body with a simple structure. SOLUTION: A ball 14 is interposed between grooves 15 and 16 in the axial direction of an outer shaft 13 and an inner shaft 12. A holder 17 holding the ball 14 has a plurality of long size holding parts 30 respectively holding the ball 14 of respective pairs of grooves 15 and 16 in the axial direction. A connecting part 31 of mutually connecting mutual one end parts 30a of the holding parts 30, abuts on an end surface 121 of the inner shaft 12. A locking claw 33 formed in the other end part 30b of the respective holding parts 30, is locked on a step part 43 as a locking part arranged in a tail end position of the axial groove 15 of the inner shaft 12.
