Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolyte fuel cell that has a long service life, and its operation method. SOLUTION: In the solid electrolyte fuel cell having a power generation cell 4 in which a fuel electrode 3 is laminated on one face of a solid electrolyte 1 and an air electrode 2 is laminated on the other face, an air electrode current collector 5 composed of a silver porous body or silver covered porous metal body contacting with and laminated on the air electrode 2 of the power generation cell 4, a fuel electrode current collector 6 contacting with and laminated on the fuel electrode 3 of the power generation cell 4, an air electrode side separator 7 in which a silver plated layer 9 is formed on a face of a side contacting with the air electrode current collector 5, a fuel electrode side separator 8 contacting with and laminated on the fuel electrode current collector, an air supply passage 11 connecting with and installed on the air electrode side separator 7, and a fuel supply passage 10 connecting to and installed on the fuel electrode side separator 8, an air containing silver vapor is supplied to the air electrode current collector 5 by installing a silver vapor supply device in the air supply passage.
