INFORMATION MEDIUM READER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information medium reader in which operability of reading operation of information in an IC chip of an information medium is improved. SOLUTION: The information medium reader 1 is provided with: an information medium table 2 on which the notebook-type information medium 20 having the IC chip 23 can be placed in an open state; an IC chip reading antenna 3 with which the information in the IC chip 23 of the information medium 20 can be read by wireless communication; a first guide member 4 on which a first edge of the information medium 20 is abutted; a second guide member 5 on which a second edge of the information medium 20 is abutted; and a back pressing member 6 projecting from the first guide member 4. Between the back pressing member 6 and the information medium table 2, a holding space 12 having an interval in a prescribed height direction is formed, and the back pressing member 6 presses the back of a passport 20 inserted to the holding space 12 to regulate floating up of the passport 20.
