POUCH TYPE BATTERY AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pouch type battery and its manufacturing method in which side walls of a pouch containing an electrode assembly can be formed in a curved surface, and a capacity of the battery can be increased more than a volume of a space containing the battery. SOLUTION: The pouch type battery is provided with an electrode assembly having electrode tabs 37, 38, a rear-face part containing a groove in which the electrode assembly is installed, and a front-face part containing two extended parts bent so as to cover the electrode assembly. End parts of the two extended parts are overlapped on and fused to each other to form a front seal part, overlapping parts of a flange part and the front-face part are fused to form a pouch type case 50 making up a top seal part 52 and a bottom seal part 57, and side walls of the pouch type case 50 are formed into a curved surface.
