Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system, using infrared rays which can increase the accuracy of detecting the position of a mobile unit. SOLUTION: A plurality of position information transmitters are arranged in a matrix form on the ceiling. Each position information transmitter houses four infrared LEDs inside a single housing. Infrared rays from an infrared LED, provided within a unit space out of the four infrared LEDs provided in each position information transmitter, are irradiated toward each unit space. The same positional information is superimposed on these infrared rays. Consequently, mobile unit receives infrared rays from at least any one among these infrared rays, allowing determination as to in which unit space one is positioned. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
