Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact type high efficient power converter, in which the power loss of a DC/DC power conversion circuit is reduced by decreasing the power loss in a diode. SOLUTION: The DC/DC power conversion circuit 1, constituting the power converter, is constituted of an input capacitor 4 for smoothing an input voltage input from input terminals 3a, 3b, a choke coil 5 which is a magnetic energy storage portion for accumulating magnetic energy and for shifting the magnetic energy to a high-voltage side, a switching element 6 formed by a SiC (silicon carbide) semiconductor, a diode 8 formed by a Si (silicon) semiconductor, an output capacitor 9 for smoothing an output voltage, and output terminals 10a, 10b, wherein a control circuit 2 turns on the switching element 6, when a current flowing through the choke coil 5 is about 0.
