Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of minimizing picture quality degradation caused by gray-inversion. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with: a liquid crystal panel 100; a first polarizing plate 109 and a second polarizing plate 111 placed on the upper and lower sides of the the liquid crystal panel 100 respectively; and an optical path controlling film 120 which is disposed at the outside face of the first polarizing plate 109, which emits light having passed through the liquid crystal panel 100 and polarized with the first polarizing plate 109 to the outside of the liquid crystal panel 100, and which refracts the light in a plurality of directions at the emission.
