Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which a liquid return preventing property is improved. SOLUTION: A higher performance is demanded for the liquid return preventing property especially under pressurization. The absorbent article contains a hydrophilic inorganic compound of 4-40 mass% of the total amount of the absorbent article, wherein the average primary particle size is 3-30 nm. In the absorbent article, by containing the hydrophilic inorganic compound at a specified ratio, wherein the average primary particle size is 3-30 nm, body liquid such as absorbed urine or blood is thickened and solidified inside the absorbent article, flowability is lost, and liquid return or the like is reduced even in a state in which a pressure is applied. As a hydrophilic inorganic compound, a metal oxide such as silica, a titanium oxide, an aluminum oxide, a magnesium oxide and a zinc oxide or a multiple oxide such as zeolite are exemplified, and silica is preferably selected from among them.
