Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which can be remarkably improved in light emission efficiency by suppressing a decline in light emission efficiency due to reabsorption of excitation light, between phosphors 5 and efficiently reflecting excitation light diffusely within a wavelength conversion layer 4 to increase the absorption efficiency of excitation light into the phosphors 5. SOLUTION: The wavelength conversion layer 4 contains reflection fine particles 6 which can reflect 70% of light with wavelengths ranging from ultraviolet to visible regions, so the excitation light from a light emitting element 3 can be multiple-scattered within the wavelength conversion layer 4. Due to this structure, more percentage of excitation light which has passed through the wavelength conversion layer 4 is now irradiated on the phosphors 5 and absorbed by them, which can improve the light emission efficiency of the light emitting device.
