Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially producing tetracyclododecene carboxylic acid t-butyl ester expressed by general formula (2) in a high yield and a high purity by using tetracyclododecene carboxylic acid as a starting material and reacting it with isobutylene in a liquid phase in the presence of a silica alumina-based solid acid catalyst. SOLUTION: This tetracyclododecene carboxylic acid t-butyl ester expressed by general formula (2) is produced by reacting tetracyclododecene carboxylic acid with isobutylene in the presence of the silica alumina-based solid acid catalyst.
