METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING DUST FROM FILM ROLL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for removing dust from a film roll capable of efficiently removing dust sticking to the surface of a film roll and preventing re-sticking of a foreign body or dust released from a film roll. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for removing dust from a film roll is constituted of a suction port 32A disposed above a film roll 12 for sucking air, a particle counter 38 for counting the number of foreign particles sucked in, an air filter 62 for removing dust in the sucked air, an ionizer 60 for ionizing the clean air from which dust has been removed, a pair of air blowing ports 32B, 32B each disposed on either side of the suction port 32A for blowing the ionized clean air to the film roll 12 to generate an air current flowing from the film roll 12 to the suction port 32A, and a control device 44 for controlling the velocity and the angle of the clean air flow being blown out based on the distance between the surface of the film roll 12 and each of the air blowing ports 32B, 32B.
