FACE AUTHENTICATION DEVICE, AND METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR CHANGING SECURITY STRENGTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to set security levels of different strengths according to use purposes without requiring complicated operations. SOLUTION: A face authentication device has: a storage means for acquiring and storing features from a registrant's face image; an authentication means for acquiring facial features from an input image to determine for authentication whether they match the registrant stored in the storage means; a security setting means for prompting a user to set a security strength depending on a use purpose; and a control means for changing the content of authentication implemented by the storage means; and authentication means according to the security strength. The control means preferably switches on/off functions, such as a registration image restriction function, a spoofing detection function, a threshold correction function and a face orientation determination function, according to the set security strength.
