Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array which has a high density and high precision and can be stably manufactured with good operability by optimizing constitutional components of high density optical fiber array and is capable of maintaining satisfactory characteristics by suppressing connection loss with optical components, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber array, a plurality of optical fibers of which covers on the end parts are removed are aligned on a plurality of V-grooves formed in parallel on the V-groove substrate and the respective optical fibers are fixed between the cover plate with which the optical fibers are covered and the V-groove substrate with the adhesive, wherein the average pitch of the V-grooves is substantially equal to the average value of outer diameters of the respective optical fibers and the radius of curvature of fiber curl of the respective optical fibers is at least 8 m.
