Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermosetting resin composition excellent in light resistance, transparency, smoothness and wetting property. SOLUTION: The thermosetting resin composition comprises a dioxolane-based polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer component containing a dioxolane compound represented by formula (I) (wherein R1and R2are each independently a hydrogen atom, a straight-chain or cyclic 1-18C alkyl group or phenyl group and R1and R2may together form a ring; R3is a hydrogen atom or a 1-4C lower alkyl group) and a thermosetting crosslinking agent. A method for making a polymer compound nontoxic comprises introducing a hydrogen gas into a solution of a polymer compound obtained by polymerizing a compound having a polymerizable unsaturated double bond.
