MOLD FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for continuous casting, for producing a good quality cast slab for long term by preventing the lowering of insulation in the mold when continuously casting by giving the electromagnetic force. SOLUTION: In the mold for performing the continuous casting by acting the electromagnetic force generated with an electromagnetic coil set at the outside of the mold to molten metal in the mold, in order to insulate the mold: (1) in a system for arranging an electric insulation to divided surfaces, by dividing a cooling copper plate, the electric insulation is fitted in the range containing at least meniscus height on the divided surface and the adjoined surfaces with these divided surfaces; or (2) in a system for arranging the electric insulation on the butting surface of the copper plate, the electric insulation is fitted in the range containing at least the meniscus height on the butting surface and the adjoined surfaces with this butting surface, after giving the coating having sulfurizing-resistance for respectively non-exposing the copper-plates.
