METHOD FOR TRANSPLANTING POT SEEDLING AND POT SEEDLING TRANSPLANTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform transplantation (dense transplantation) of pot seedlings in a row at a narrow interval, directly using a presently used pot seedling box for 33 cm raw interval. SOLUTION: The pot seedling box 1 has 14 pot seedling chambers 2 in the transverse direction and 32 pot seedling chambers 2 in the longitudinal direction formed symmetrical right and left. Earthing and seeding are carried out in the pot seedling chambers in longitudinal 12 rows except longitudinal 1 row at both right and left ends, respectively to raise the pot seedlings. The resultant pot seedling box is set in a seedling-carrying platform of a pot seedling transplanter to perform the transplantation. The pot seedlings P are taken out of the 12 pot seedling chambers except the 2 pot seedling chambers at both right and left ends in the 14 pot seedling chambers in 1 transverse row and dropped onto a pair of right and left endless transverse transport belts 32A, respectively. The pot seedlings P delivered from discharging ends of the belts one by one are planted in a field by planting pawls 35A turning in the nearly vertical plane near the discharging ends.
