SOLUTION: The method for performing optical character recognition (OCR) on an image of a document including text includes steps of embedding a physical manifestation of digital information associated with the text on the document; scanning the document with a scanning device to produce the digital information and a digital text file; and proofing the digital text file using the digital information.
