Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for purifying a pyrolysis gas, whereby the pyrolysis gas obtained by pyrolyzing an organic waste such as sewage sludge can easily and inexpensively be recovered as a fuel gas. SOLUTION: The method for purifying the pyrolysis gas is carried out by the followings: after removing carbon particles, tar components and alkaline gas in the pyrolysis gas obtained by pyrolyzing an organic waste, by cooling and acid-washing thereof with a scrubber 2, the gas obtained is subjected to gas purification by passing it through a packed tower 4 whereto washing water containing oxygen is supplied; and then moisture is removed from the gas, converting it to a fuel gas. The apparatus for purifying pyrolysis gas has the scrubber 2 equipped with an acid-washing liquid-supplying means 3a, the packed tower 4 equipped with an oxygen-containing washing water-supplying means 4a and a dehumidifier 9, being assembled in this order.
