Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load carrying platform opening and closing mechanism of a dump truck capable of opening a batter plate at an optional angle or making it in a free state. SOLUTION: This opening and closing mechanism to open and close a load carrying platform of the dump truck is furnished with the batter plate supported on a rear end of the load carrying platform free to revolve, an opening and closing driving mechanism to open and close the batter plate and a control mechanism to control the opening and closing driving mechanism, and the opening and closing driving mechanism by the control mechanism can be driven by operation from a driver's seat of the dump truck and revolution of the batter plate is controlled by driving the opening and closing driving mechanism and consequently, it is possible to open the batter plate at an optional angle or make it in a free state. Accordingly, it is possible to lay ballast to load on the load carrying platform in specified thickness while travelling the truck inclining the load carrying platform at constant speed.
