Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not the operation is necessary to be activated without waiting the request of a controller. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes an engine control section 20 and a controller control section 30 and can be set into an energy saving mode. The controller control section 30 determines a factor of resumption when the apparatus resumes from the energy saving mode. Based on the determined factor of the resumption, the controller control section 30 outputs a resumption mode signal 43 of indicating whether the operation of a writing section and/or a reading section is necessary or not. Based on the resumption mode signal 43, the engine control section 20 determines whether the writing section and/or reading section needs to be initialized or not. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
