FLAME-RETARDANT POLYESTER-BASED ARTIFICIAL HAIR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyester-based artificial hair that keeps fiber properties such as heat resistance, strength elongation, etc., of ordinary polyester fiber and has excellent setting properties, feel and combing property and high flame retardance. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant polyester-based artificial fiber is obtained by subjecting a composition comprising a polyester, a brominated epoxy-based flame retardant having the ratio a/b of the epoxy equivalent (a) to the number-average molecular weight (b) of ≥1 and an antimony compound to melt spinning so as to control occurrence of gel during spinning, to keep excellent spinning stability and has fiber properties such as heat resistance, strength elongation, etc., of ordinary polyester fiber and to have excellent setting properties, feel and combing property.
