FUEL CELL SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system capable of surely raising temperature up to operation temperature even when starting at very low temperature. SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is composed of a fuel cell 10 having a unit cell comprising an anode 14, an electrolyte film 12, and a cathode 16, generating power by receiving fuel gas containing hydrogen at the anode 14, and receiving oxidant gas containing oxygen at the cathode 16; temperature sensors 78, 80 detecting the temperature of the fuel cell 10; and a gas supply means supplying the fuel gas and the oxidant gas to a prescribed area on a face of the unit cell. When the temperature at starting the fuel cell 10 is lower than the prescribed temperature, the fuel gas and the oxidant gas are supplied only to an area A on the face of the unit cell.
