OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector in which a housing member can be made common in various connectors while hardly giving influences to characteristics of an optical fiber. SOLUTION: The optical connector 1 comprises a connector plug 2 and a connector socket 3 which can be detachably coupled to the connector plug 2. The connector plug 2 has a plug housing 4, and a ferrule 5 to hold an optical fiber 9a, a boot 10 to introduce an optical fiber 9s through the rear end, and two bend stop plates 12 to suppress the boot 10 from bending are disposed in the plug housing 4. The connector socket 3 has a socket housing 17, and a ferrule 20 to hold an optical fiber 24a, a boot 25 to introduce the optical fiber 24a through the rear end side, and two bend stop plates 29 to suppress the boot 25 from bending are disposed in the socket housing 17.
