PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine device having a kickback preventing function capable of preventing occurrence of kickback when starting an engine without enlarging the device and increasing cost, and a vehicle provided therewith. SOLUTION: When the engine 100 is started, air is sucked from an intake port 4 to the inside of a cylinder 1 through an intake pipe 11. Burnt gas generated by combustion of an air-fuel mixture in the cylinder 1 is discharged from an exhaust port 5 through an exhaust pipe 12. An exhaust gas recirculation system 13 is provided to the intake pipe 11 and the exhaust pipe 12. The exhaust gas recirculation system 13 has piping 13a communicating the intake pipe 11 with the exhaust pipe 12 and an exhaust gas recirculation valve 13b disposed in the piping 13a. When the exhaust gas recirculation valve 13b is opened, at least a part of burnt gas passing through the inside of the exhaust pipe 12 is introduced to the intake pipe 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
