Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency stop device for an elevator capable of having stable and high coefficient of friction and high reliability even under high speeds at which heat resistance exceeding 1000°C is requested. SOLUTION: Ceramics 11 are used as the braking elements of the emergency stop device of the elevator. The ceramics are joined to each other through a metal block. The metal block 13 is formed in a divided structure. When the ceramics are joined to the metal block, a contact pressure is applied to them by bolts so that a compressive force acts thereon.
