CHECKOUT APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a quick checkout service through the same counter regardless of the use of a cart or a shopping basket by a shopper. SOLUTION: The checkout apparatus is provided with the counter 1 sequentially having a basket placing table 3, a scanner 4 and a top board 5 for placing the basket 2 housing goods after scanned. The table 3 is provided at a position lower than a load carrying platform of the shopping cart having an opened front below the platform. Thereby the basket remaining on the platform can be made to approach a side of the scanner 4. The table 3 is formed of pipe members 3a. A perforated plate 11 is disposed at a part of the top of the table 3. Ends 11a between the pipe members 3a of the end of a basket introduction side of the plate 11 are downward curved.
