DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CULTIVATING JAPANESE YAM OR THE LIKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cultivation technique of Japanese yam or the like applicable to mass production of the Japanese yam or the like and reducing working load on workers. SOLUTION: The device 10 for cultivating Japanese yam or the like is provided with a plurality of cultivation containers 1 each having air holes in its inner part for cultivating Japanese yam or the like, and a holder 2 in which the cultivation containers 1 are arranged and housed, and is buried under a farm field. The cultivation containers 1 are each formed into a cylindical shape, linearly placed in alignment in a slanted state and disposed so as to be longitudinally superimposed on each other in a longitudinal direction (A). The holder 2 has a vertical cross-section shaped into a U-shape or a concave shape, and comprises a box-shaped one formed of coarse-meshed wire net. A plurality of hook parts 6 comprising locking tools for hanging or pulling up the holder 2 are formed at the upper part of the holder 2. In the cultivation device, the cultivation containers 1 can be buried or taken out at one time so as to enhance working efficiency to enable mass production of the Japanese yam or the like.
