APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REPRODUCING POLARIZATION ORTHOGONAL- MULTIPLEXED SIGNAL LIGHT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for reproducing polarization orthogonal-multiplexed signal light which can operate properly even in the case of a polarization orthogonal-multiplexed signal. SOLUTION: The apparatus for reproducing the polarization orthogonal-multiplexed signal light comprises an optical signal separation means 1 which separates a separation optical signal from an inputted polarization orthogonal multiple signal, a clock pulse extraction means 3 which extracts a clock pulse from the separation optical signal, and an optical signal reproduction means 4 which obtains an optical reproduction signal by synchronizing the polarization orthogonal-multiplexed signal with the clock pulse extracted by the clock pulse extraction means. The apparatus further comprises a polarization control means 2 which outputs the polarization orthogonal multiplexed signal in a polarization state in which orthogonal polarized waves of the polarization orthogonal-multiplexed signal are fixed at a predetermined angle whose axis is in a moving direction of the polarized waves and the polarization orthogonal-multiplexed signal outputted from the polarization control means is inputted to the clock pulse extraction means 3.
