Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image sensor in which a document (object to be irradiated) can be read with high precision while reducing an illuminance deflection over a main scanning direction of the document (object to be irradiated) by providing a refraction member wherein a number of projections are continuously formed along the main scanning direction between a light source and the document (object to be irradiated) in a transmission type image sensor and passing and refracting light from the light source through the refraction member. SOLUTION: An image sensor comprises: a light source arranged in a main scanning direction; a lens array extending in the main scanning direction for converging light transmitted through an object to be irradiated, the object to be irradiated being conveyed in a sub scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction; a sensor arranged in the main scanning direction for detecting the light converged by the lens array; and a refraction member which is arranged between the light source and the object to be irradiated and in which a number of projections are continuously formed along the main scanning direction, for passing and refracting the light from the light source so as to radiate the light over the main scanning direction of the object to be irradiated.
