Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring a thickness of a vessel steel plate, capable of easily measuring the thickness of the vessel steel plate even when an end part of the vessel is formed by a curved surface of a spherical or a conical shape, as like a reactor (a reaction vessel), and a trunk part of the vessel has various obstacles. SOLUTION: The device is characterized by a structure including a traveling carrier 5 which travels with right and left front wheels 10 and right and left rear wheels 11, includes a magnetic body mounted of which attraction force acts on the vessel steel plate, a travel driving mechanism for enabling the right and left rear wheels 11 to be driven independently, and advance and retreat, and can travel on a steel plate of the approximately cylindrical trunk part 1b of the vessel, an ultrasonic probe unit 13 with a plurality of ultrasonic probes mounted, a carriage member 15 movable in a direction crossing a moving direction of the travelling carriage 5 to the travelling carriage 5, and mounting the ultrasonic probe unit 14 with the plurality of ultrasonic probes 7 mounted, and an obstacle detecting means for detecting the obstacle in the moving direction of the travelling carriage 5.
