PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an envelope which is used for storing documents and other items therein, and mailing and forwarding the same, is improved in adhesiveness of a sealing piece to an envelope body, positively prevents the sealing piece from separating from the envelope body, and exerts improved sealing performance by preventing formation of a gap between the sealing piece and the envelope body to the possible extent. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the envelope, the envelope body 1 is formed of a front piece 1a and a rear piece 1b like a bag so as to define an opening section 2, either of the front piece 1a or the rear piece 1b is extended from the opening section 2 to form the sealing piece 3, and a pressure sensitive adhesive 4 is provided at least to either of the sealing piece 3 or the envelope body 1 facing to the sealing piece 3. Herein the adhesive 4 has a leading end side adhesive portion 4a arranged on a leading end side of the sealing piece 3, and root side adhesive portions 4b arranged on a root side of the sealing piece 3.
