Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a steam iron which achieves a finishing with efficient smoothing out of the winkles without water leakage despite an increase in the amount of steam. SOLUTION: A thermistor 3 is mounted near a heater 2 of a base 1 and a vaporizing chamber 6 is formed surrounding the thermistor 3 from both sides. In steaming, the temperature dropping in the vaporizing chamber is sensed on both sides for quicker detection to control the base 1 to the optimum temperature, thereby preventing the leakage of water outside from its ironing surface.
