Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain electrolytic water with always set characteristics by compensating fluctuations in the characteristics of electrolytic water before and after the switching of the polarity of the voltage applied to the electrodes of a diaphragm electrolytic cell caused by the polarity remaining in a diaphragm in an electrolytic water making apparatus which employs a system constituted so as to periodically change over the polarity of the DC voltage applied to the respective electrodes of the diaphragm electrolytic cell positively and negatively to repeatedly perform electrolytic operation. SOLUTION: The electrolytic water making apparatus is equipped with one or a plurality of first diaphragm electrolytic cells 10 or one or a plurality of second diaphragm electrolytic cells 20. These diaphragm electrolytic cells 10 and 20 are constituted so that electrolytic chambers becoming an anode side and electrolytic chambers becoming negative side communicate with each other at the time of electrolytic operation, the diaphragms 12 and 22 are polarized to negative and positive poles on the respective left and right side surfaces by the application of voltage and, in the first and second diaphragm electrolytic cells 10 and 20, the opposed surfaces to the respective electrodes of the diaphragms 12 and 22 at the time of electrolytic operation are mutually different in polarity.
