AMMONIA-CONTAINING WATER TREATMENT METHOD AND APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a reduction in the amount of used chlorine-containing chemicals, such as sodium chloride, prevention of enlargement of various devices by suppressing an increase in ion loads, and a reduction in the amount of waste material and power consumption in a treatment method of ammonia-containing wastewater generated in recovery processes of a liquid crystal manufacturing plant and a semiconductor manufacturing plant. SOLUTION: An ammonia-containing water treatment method performs a liquid to be treated preparing process A for obtaining a liquid to be treated by subjecting wastewater containing at least ammonia to ion exchange treatment, reverse osmosis membrane treatment, or electric deionization treatment, and an electrolysis process B for obtaining treated waste liquid by electrolyzing the liquid to be treated to decompose/remove the ammonia.
