INFORMATION DISPLAY METHOD USING ELECTRONIC PROGRAM GUIDE AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferentially display highly recommended information among pieces of information matching preferences of a user who uses an electronic program guide together with program guide data in the electronic program guide or an electronic program list. SOLUTION: Information of the electronic program guide obtained by broadcasting or through a communication line is displayed (92). User use states (93, 94, and 95) of the electronic program guide including information on use time zones (96) are grasped. Content information corresponding to the user use states is gathered (97). The content information is displayed together with the information of the electronic program guide (99). Where, processing (97) for gathering content information mainly in time zones of high view frequencies of the user is carried out according to users preferences and degrees of recommendation that providing sources of content information intend.
