Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form uniform triangular mesh close to an equilateral triangle without defects such as holes, from a curved surface of a three-dimensional model represented in an implicit functional format. SOLUTION: This polygonization method comprises a step a1 for regarding nodal points of polygon mesh to be formed, as particles, setting force working among the particles, as repulsive force while setting force working toward a curved surface, as gravity; a step a2 for computing potential energy of repulsive force and gravity of the particles; a step a3 for arranging virtual particles in positions near the particles and computing potential energy that the virtual particles have; a step a4 for moving the particle into a position of minimum potential energy out of the particle and the virtual particle arranged at a near-by point; a step a5 for repeating the processing of the steps a2-a4 until the state of each particle reaches a stable state; and a step a6 for forming the mesh based on obtained data of a particle group.
